I have started this blog for two simple purposes: 1) to share myself with the world 2) to gain more insight into myself. Also, writing is free and a great outlet for catharsis, so, why not?
This is not my first foray into the world of blogging. I had several livejournal accounts throughout high school and college, but I only posted sporadically, and more often than not, my posts consisted of random, pointless tirades.
Now, I am not sure how committed I will be to blogging. I tend to go through phases fairly often, jumping from one fleeting interest to another. One thing is certain though: if my lack of motivation doesn't stop me from blogging, then writer's block will. Not because I don't have anything to say, but because I am not sure how to present myself. I'm starting to over-analyze here, a big no-no becaues it bogs me down and then I'll end up deleting this post, which I refuse to do. Moving on.
I'm paying off my student loan this week. I should be excited about it, but all I can think about is the fact that my car fund is gonna dwindle as a result. Despite my lack of excitement, though, I am full of relief. I am pretty much officially debt-free once the loan is paid off. On the other hand, it means that I have to confront something that I've been delaying for as long as possible. But I digress...
I had a great Thanksgiving. My family and I drove down to San Diego to visit my sister and her husband. They're renting the cutest little house in Pacific Beach, which in itself is pretty darn cute as well. I was amazed by the immense size of San Diego. San Diego is mostlyy comprised of little neighborhoods and cities along the coast- Oceanside, Escondido, Del Mar, Carlsbad La Jolla, etc, Sadly, we didn't get the opportunity to explore San Diego much, but we did at least get to see the famous Hotel Del Coronado, which is a significant fixture in one of my all time favorite films- Some Like It Hot. Besides a bit of sightseeing, we had a great Thanksgiving meal and I took advantage of my sister's new espresso machine the whole time (must have had at least 3 cups a day).
This week, I am paying off my student loan. Excited, I should be, but rather, I am only slightly relieved. It's probably because I have many other pressing issues which I have yet to deal with. I don't really feel like getting into it now because one of my goals for this blog is to spin negative situations/experiences into positive positive life lessons. Easier said than done, of course. It also doesn't help that I'm currently suffering from Downer Syndrome.
December holidays are just around the corner!! The weather is finally cooling down and giving me opportunities to wear my coats.
Always Short, Never Sweet.
